Zhongdian is the name of both a huge county and the town that is its capital . It forms one of three counties that make up the DiqenTibetanAutonomousPrefecture in northwestern most Yunnasn. It is located in DiqingCounty, where is renamed as Shangri-laCounty in 2001. In Tibetan, Shangri-la means 'a place where the sun and the moon comes across'. Similar to Tibet, Zhongdian is a quiet and peaceful place. If you love nature, Zhongdian is the place never disappoints you!
There are lots of tour attractions in Zhongdian and the famous ones are Songzanlin Monastery, Napahai nature reserve, and the Meili Snow mountain.
